This was sweet. It never ceases to amaze me how women were treated as possessions so long ago. I suppose maybe in some societies it still happens today. Lord Newbury could care less what any mere girl thought... he needed a wife and needed an heir. And they way they were talking about Annabelle! Her body was made for breeding?? How awful! I was so glad of the chance meeting with Sebastian. And loved his reaction to her before he even knew who she was. And how with each interaction, they grew closer and closer. I also loved how Annabelle ultimately guessed Seb's secret. It was a sweet romance and a triumph over arranged marriages. This was my first Julia Quinn, and it won't be my last. Oh, and I listened to this one -- Rosalyn Landor did another amazing job with narration. One of my favorites.
